A Free 5-Day Camp for
Middle School Students
Don’t just use apps, learn to make them!
Spend a week with friends and school mates making apps that work on mobile devices. Learn about the exciting world of programming. Make apps that help you and your community!
Students will learn to use MIT App Inventor, a visual programming tool, that is powerful yet easy to learn, and allows creation of amazing apps that run on Android tablets and phones.
Campers will participate in project based activities with the assistance of qualified computer science educators.
Campers will collaborate with community partners, develop problem solving and programming skills while learning about the field of computer science.
Activities center around learning new skills, working in groups, and working with community partners. Students will form a team and publish a real, functioning app in the Google Play app store.
At the end of the week, campers will present their final apps to their friends, family and other members of their community.
This is the final year of our grant-funded summer camp. There is no charge for registration students attend for free. Lunch and all necessary materials are provided.
