  • McGlynn Print Screening Club, Tuesday afternoons with Mr. Villard in room 216
  • Homework Club every Tuesday & Thursday, 2:15-3:00 in the library.

On December 11th the McGlynn Middle School held an after school ice skating field trip. This is the third consecutive year of the skate trip.

The school will hold three more skate trips: January 15th, February 5th, and March 12th, all beginning at noon.

SCHOOLS CLOSED Thursday & Friday- Updated Jan. 2

The Medford Public Schools are closed Thursday, January 2 and Friday, January 3 due to the snow storm.

Please stay safe and shovel sidewalks so that we will have the best conditions in place when we return to school.

School will resume on Monday, January 6.

Please note there is a snow emergency in effect in Medford as of 6pm Thursday until further notice. Please see the city website for more details on parking restrictions.

Elementary Update for 2013-2014 School Year

Elementary routes have been changed; please review for stops.

Middle School Update for 2013-2014 School Year

MS Rte#1 Fulton Springs @ Watervale and Watervale @ Fern Rd have been moved to MS Rte#12.

MS Rte#13 is now MS Rte#14.

MS Rte#14 is now MS Rte#13.

High School (not MBTA routes)

High School has a single route AM and PM – Rte #14 – and will pick up at the HS at 2:45pm. Please see the schedule below for Route 14.

Hockey Club Update

The Middle School Hockey Club will skate each Saturday at 8am at LoConte Rink (97 Locust Street, Medford) until further notice.

Students from the McGlynn and Andrews Middle Schools are welcome to participate. $10 per week.

For more information see Principal Edwards or Coach Glionna in the McGlynn gym.

Students Selected to Perform in Regional Music Festival

Medford High School freshman Laura Schmidt (viola), McGlynn 7th grader Danielle Le (violin), and McGlynn 8th grader Justin Tseng (cello) have been selected to participate in the Massachusetts Northeastern District Junior Music Festival. After auditions in Methuen of nearly 1,000 students from more than 95 public and private schools, these students were chosen to perform in the festival orchestra.

The festival is an annual event offered by the M.M.E.A. as a musical enrichment opportunity for talented young people. The participants will rehearse with guest conductors and perform in concert at Lowell High School in March.

Grade 8 Course Selection Night Change

The Grade 8 Course Selection Night scheduled for Wednesday, February 5 has been cancelled and will now be held on March 5th. Public and parochial schools are both going to be included on the same night.
